I have talked to your consul (a very nice person and speaks perfect Russian), and he has explained to me that besides the variants of obtaining a visa which I told you about, there's also a fiancee visa. It'd take from 4 up to 6 months to get a fiancee visa. Everything begins with our applying to the immigration service INS of the state you live in, then they would contact the Embassy, and the latter would contact me and invite me to them to fill out the papers. Jason, I'd have to go through a number of formal procedures, including full medical check-up, we'd have to show proof of being together for at least two years, like pictures etc. And only then, perhaps, I would be given the fiancee visa. Besides, the consul has also told me that since he started working there the shortest time within which such a visa was obtained made 2 months, but it was a kind of special case, an exception. The visa is obtained in Warsaw, Poland, but no fax is admissible. I would have to go to Poland myself, and maybe even more than once. Dear Jason, I don't want, cannot and will not wait for so long to see you. On my question about the terms of making H-2B visa Dmitry said that it may be done from 7 to 14 days. Though because of holidays the visa will be ready not earlier than January, 6. But he said that it is not a telephone conversation and if I need his help he is waiting for me with documents and money in Kiev. Jason, I can't decide myself what visa is better: B-2 or H-2B. H-2B will let me work in your country and be with you during 2 years completely legally.
